Welcome!

We got engaged back in October 2010 and decided right away that we wanted to get married in the summer of 2011. Time was of the essence - we had less than a year and a lot of planning to do. One of the first things we did was we set out to find the perfect wedding invitations. We went to a wedding show, only to be blindsided by how much custom invitations would cost. Next, we looked at the packaged Do-It-Yourself invitations from a craft store. Yes, they were cheap, but they also looked "cheap" and very generic. We really wanted invitations that reflected our beach wedding theme, so we turned to the Internet hoping that we would find the right invitations at the right price.

Eventually we discovered the PERFECT invitations, only to be again disappointed by the cost. It was looking like if we wanted our wedding to be exactly the way we wanted we were going to have to pay a lot of money. We still don't know who came up with the idea, but one of us said "Those invitations don't look THAT complicated...maybe we could make them ourselves?". We thought we had nothing to loose and quickly set out to track down the necessary materials, only to again be very frustrated at the sheer cost of supplies at retail stores. Once again, we turned to the Internet.

We found great ways to save money ordering supplies in bulk and eventually the invitations of our dreams became reality. They turned out better than the invitations that had provided the initial inspiration not only in looks but also in the feeling that they gave us - we were so proud of the fact that we made them! We were so happy with the results, before you knew it we were making EVERYTHING for the wedding. In the end, we got the wedding that we wanted right down to all the details. Our wedding was a hit with all of our guest – all of whom thought we had spent a fortune on custom items.

Now that our wedding is over, we are undertaking our next project – this website where we can share with all the other do-it-yourself brides/couples out there our techniques, ideas and more! Getting married is a very special thing, and no couple should ever have to compromise, even on the smallest of details!
